Photos & Stories Policy

How we ask permission before using anyone’s photo, video, words or story.

Photos, quotes and stories help show what The Polished Standard does. But young women’s privacy and safety come first.

Our rules

  • We never take or use a photo, video, quote or story of a young woman without her written permission.
  • We explain clearly where it will be used, for example our website, social media or a report to the organisation that booked the programme.
  • You can say yes to some things and no to others. For example, you might be happy to share a quote but not a photo.
  • Saying no is always fine, and it won’t affect anyone’s place on the programme.
  • For young women under 18, we also check with the organisation responsible for their care or education, where needed.
  • We never use a young woman’s surname, address, school, college or anything else that shows where she lives.
  • We take extra care with anyone who needs to keep where she is private, for example because of domestic abuse.
  • We don’t show anyone in a way that could embarrass her or put her at risk.
  • We take photos on TPS devices only, never on personal phones, and we store them securely.
  • We ask young women not to post photos of each other without permission.

Changing your mind
You can take back your permission at any time by emailing [TPS EMAIL] or telling Rose at a session. We will remove your photo or words from our website and social media within 5 working days. We can’t take back printed materials that have already been handed out, but we won’t print them again.

How long we keep them
We keep photos, stories and permission forms for up to 3 years, or until you take back your permission, then delete them securely.

Stock photos
Some photos on our website are stock photos of models. They are not young women from our programme.
